Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in France that Kyiv is not discussing a ceasefire with its Western partners. According to him, Ukraine's priority is the full restoration of the country's territorial integrity and independence, and any ceasefire proposals that do not take these goals into account are unacceptable.
Zelensky noted that any ceasefire talks could be perceived as a concession and a freeze on the conflict, which would only give Russia time to regroup and prepare for new attacks.
French President Emmanuel Macron supported the Ukrainian leader, expressing solidarity with Kyiv's position. He confirmed that France will continue to provide military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine for as long as it is needed. Macron noted that his country and other members of the European Union remain committed to supporting Ukraine in its fight for independence.
