The issue of the possible transfer of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) Polonez from Belarus to Russia has encountered a serious obstacle - the need to obtain China's consent. This is due to the fact that the Polonez system uses missiles made in China, which makes the transfer of these systems to third countries without Beijing's permission impossible, SCMP reports.
The Polonez MLRS system was developed by Belarus with the participation of Chinese specialists and its missile armament includes missiles of Chinese manufacture. According to the terms of the license agreement, any transactions involving these missiles require approval from China.
Among other things, there is information that Belarus is not yet able to produce long-range missiles for this system.
However, there are no facts yet that Russia is interested in purchasing Belarusian systems.
