The Chinese military did not trust the Russian S-400 to protect their borders with India.
The Chinese army refused to place previously acquired Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 "Triumph" on the border with India, emphasizing distrust of these complexes and choosing as a replacement for them analogues of the S-300 complexes developed by the military from the PRC.
The reason why China decided not to trust Russian air defense systems is still unknown, however, judging by the available data, the PRC fears that the S-400 may not cope with such a task, moving them away from the border with India.
“The PRC army has placed Hongqi-9 complexes on the border with India (an analogue of the S-300 air defense missile system with an increased target range - editor's note). China also has more powerful S-400s, but the military decided not to trust these complexes and chose domestic development "- Sina Military reports.
Information agency "Al-Masdar News", with reference to "Forbes", also confirms the emerging data on the transfer of Chinese complexes Hongqi-9 to the border with India, despite the presence of China's S-400 complexes
Experts so far cannot comment on the current situation, however, they suggest that this is nothing more than reinsurance on the part of the PRC, since the mountainous region can allow Indian fighters and launched missiles to strike the region unnoticed.
