Is China a bigger threat than the US?

Presidential adviser on national security issues, John Bolton, said that China presents a much greater danger to Russia than the United States. This is primarily due to the fact that, being located next to Russia, China has long sent its missiles to the most important regions of Russia.

According to John Bolton, the current Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles does not make any sense, which is primarily due to the fact that there are an incomparably greater number of medium-range and short-range missiles in service with China. Given the common border between Russia and the PRC, China is a much greater threat to Russia than the United States.

Taking into account the statement made, there is an assumption that the breach of the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles may be beneficial to Russia, however, it is also important to take into account that China is one of the most important strategic partners of Russia, including allowing to put pressure on the United States.

Analysts believe that with such a statement, Washington is only trying to destabilize relations between Russia and China, thereby depriving each of the parties of a powerful strategic partner.
