Chinese robot dogs to be equipped with grenade launchers and kamikaze drones

China is developing a new concept for the use of combat robots.

Against the backdrop of successful developments in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, China is considering the possibility of using dog robots in service with the army, which can be equipped with grenade launchers and strike-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to available information, robotic dogs have a relatively low cost, and unlike personnel, they are able to operate in extremely difficult conditions. As follows from the data presented, the PLA plans to equip such robots with grenade launchers capable of throwing grenades at a distance of up to 150 meters, and in addition, with four launchers for kamikaze drones that are capable of flying at distances of up to 5 kilometers and hit as unarmored, and armored targets.

The transition of the PRC army to the use of combat robots indicates that the armed forces of this country can be seriously strengthened, since at the minimum cost of such robots, the latter can be controlled by almost any unit in virtually unlimited quantities.
