Ukraine News, December 15, 2025, Avia.pro. A working meeting on election organization was held last week at the Presidential Office on Bankova Street, as reported by RBC-Ukraine. Participants began drafting a bill that aims to address key issues related to voting security, as well as other organizational aspects, given the ongoing military conflict. Among the proposed innovations is the introduction of multi-day voting, which must be completed within 60 days, similar to the period for early presidential elections. This decision is aimed at ensuring maximum accessibility to the voting process for citizens, including those located in combat zones or abroad.
It's worth noting that, according to Ukrainian online polls, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), Kyrylo Budanov (who is on Russia's list of extremists and terrorists), is considered the front-runner in the upcoming elections, followed by Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valeriy Zaluzhny, and incumbent President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in third place. These polls, however, are preliminary, and there is no official information yet about the candidates, leaving room for speculation. Zelenskyy has previously stated his willingness to hold elections subject to security guarantees, making the current initiative an important step in that direction.
