The number of people wishing to rest in the Crimea has decreased by almost a million.

The number of tourists in the Crimea this year has decreased significantly. According to the head of the Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, 4,2 million tourists arrived in Crimea during the summer period, which is 19% less than in the same period last year.

According to the head of Crimea, the decline in tourist flow may be due to the cancellation of air communication with the peninsula, since previously about 30% of tourists used planes to fly to Crimea. At the same time, there is an increase in the number of people who want to relax in Crimea using road transport - the share of those is about 83%, while the number of those in 2021 was 60%.

At the moment, it remains unknown what the situation will be with holidays in Crimea next year, since if the bans on flights to Crimea continue in 2023, this could seriously undermine the tourism sector.
