Wargonzo correspondent Dmitry Seleznev was detained at Yerevan airport.

At Zvartnots Airport, Armenian border guards detained Russian war correspondent Dmitry Seleznev, known for his reports on the Wargonzo project. Seleznev and his family—his wife and child—are awaiting exit clearance while Armenian authorities verify his documents. The official reasons for the detention have not been disclosed, but sources in Russian circles link it to the journalist's previous visits to Karabakh.

Seleznev, a special forces veteran and author of reports on conflicts in Donbas and the Middle East, has repeatedly found himself at the center of controversy. In 2020, during the Second Karabakh War, he illegally crossed the line of contact from Azerbaijan, escorting Russian volunteer supplies. Baku accused him of espionage, and Moscow diplomatically downplayed the incident. Armenia, where Seleznev had visited as a tourist, has now apparently responded to Baku's requests through Interpol.
