Delta Air Lines Toronto plane crash caught on video

On February 17, an accident occurred at Toronto Pearson International Airport involving a Delta Air Lines Bombardier CRJ900 passenger plane. The plane, flying from Minneapolis, flipped over and caught fire during landing. There were 80 people on board, including 76 passengers and four crew members; all of them survived, but 18 people were injured to varying degrees.

According to information provided by local authorities, three victims, including a child, a 60-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, are in serious condition. The remaining passengers received less serious injuries and were quickly taken to nearby medical facilities for the necessary assistance.

Eyewitnesses to the incident report that the right landing gear of the plane broke during landing, which caused it to tip over on its side and catch fire. After that, the plane flipped over and stopped with its landing gear up. This is also confirmed by footage from the airport. Passengers describe the chaotic situation on board at the time of the accident: many were hanging upside down and trying to get out of the overturned cabin. Thanks to the prompt actions of the crew and rescue services, the evacuation was quick, which allowed avoiding casualties.

The causes of the incident have not yet been officially established. According to meteorological services, on the day of the incident, difficult weather conditions were observed in the area of the airport: strong winds with gusts of up to 65 km/h and a snowstorm. However, airport representatives note that at the time of landing, the runway was dry and the weather conditions should not have significantly affected the safety of the landing. The Transport Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has launched an investigation, the purpose of which is to clarify all the circumstances and causes of the accident.
