IRGC promises tough response to US for strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the United States would regret striking Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling the action a “blatant and unprecedented crime.” In a statement, the IRGC stressed that multiple American bases in the Middle East actually increase Washington’s vulnerability rather than strengthen its defenses. It vowed to continue retaliatory strikes with “precision and violence,” targeting infrastructure and strategic centers linked to the “Zionist regime,” adding that President Trump’s threats and the actions of the US and Israeli governments have failed to intimidate Tehran.

The attack, coordinated by the US and Israel, hit nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan this morning, continuing an escalation that began with Israeli operations in June 2025. Iran responded with missile strikes on Israeli territory, and the IRGC is set to expand the scale of countermeasures. According to Iranian television, much of the enriched uranium at the Fordow facility was moved to a secret location in advance, and the number of personnel was reduced to a minimum, which, according to the head of the state broadcaster Hassan Abedini, prevented radiation risks and possible harm to citizens. He assured that nuclear materials were removed from the affected area before the operation.

Tensions are rising in the region. According to AFP, Iran is strengthening the IRGC's position in the Persian Gulf by deploying additional Khaleej Fars missile launchers near Hengam Island, as recorded by ImageSat International satellites. Israel, in turn, has continued its attacks, striking an Iranian military facility in Bandar Leng, as confirmed by UN data.

In Iran, local authorities said access to facilities in Qom, where Fordow is located, was temporarily restricted to assess the damage. Iranian sources said the evacuation of personnel was successful, but support systems, including water supplies, were damaged. Analysts say the IRGC warnings reflect Tehran’s readiness to escalate despite precautions.
