The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by American aviation and artillery, have established control over seven settlements in the province of Deir ez-Zor. According to Middle Eastern media, Kurdish formations have advanced deep into the territory on the left bank of the Euphrates River, capturing the settlements of Al-Hussaniya, As-Salihiya, Hatla, Marrat, Mazlum, Hisham and At-Tabia.

The offensive was accompanied by airstrikes by US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft and US Army artillery fire support. According to sources, the attacks targeted positions of the Syrian army and pro-Iranian groups associated with it. Despite an initial successful defense, government forces and their allies were forced to retreat under the onslaught of the attackers.

The situation in Deir ez-Zor has worsened amid escalating tensions between the conflicting sides. The resource-rich region remains a key battleground, with control of it of strategic importance for both Bashar al-Assad's government and the US-backed Kurdish forces.

Experts note that the active participation of American aviation and artillery demonstrates Washington's intention to strengthen the SDF's position in the region. At the same time, this causes indignation on the part of Damascus and Tehran, which view the US actions as a direct intervention violating Syria's sovereignty.
