Lavrov: Anchorage thought the Ukraine issue was closed, but it's not.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the progress of the Ukraine negotiations, recalling the Alaska summit, where Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted Donald Trump's proposal. According to Lavrov, Moscow had hoped that the issue would be resolved after the Anchorage meeting, but this did not happen.

Lavrov also noted that if Washington wants to return to direct dialogue, Moscow would be "interested in hearing" how they currently assess the situation. However, he added, the previous level of trust will no longer exist. The day before, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, summing up Putin's visit to China, declared that only the "Spirit of Beijing" exists.
