Le Figaro: Europe will not be able to provide arms and ammunition supplies to Ukraine

The French newspaper Le Figaro highlights the worsening situation in Kyiv amid declining support from the West. Among the key reasons cited are a shortage of weapons, political divisions and growing fatigue among the Ukrainian population with the ongoing conflict.

The newspaper notes that Ukraine's planned counter-offensive did not achieve the expected result, partly due to unfulfilled Western promises for arms supplies. There are also serious differences of opinion in the European Union about providing additional aid to Ukraine, with many countries not willing to sacrifice their interests to support Kyiv.

In addition, against the background of the aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the attention of the world media was diverted from the Ukrainian events. In Ukraine itself, the population’s fatigue from the current conflict is increasing, and political disagreements are also occurring, in particular, between President Zelensky and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny.

At the same time, according to Le Figaro, blocking a new aid package to Ukraine in the US Congress could become a serious threat to Kyiv. It is noted that Europe is not ready to take a leading role in supporting Ukraine if American assistance decreases due to the lack of sufficient funds and political will.
