Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev reported that the night before last, approximately eight Ukrainian drones were directed toward the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant in the Voronezh Region. All drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems, without causing damage to the plant or the power grid.

"The night before last, about eight Ukrainian Armed Forces drones attempted to attack the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant, all of them were shot down," — Likhachev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that the consequences of the incident have been completely eliminated, and the operation of the nuclear power plant has not been affected.

According to Likhachev, such actions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against Russian nuclear facilities indicate an increase in aggression caused by failures on the line of contact.
