Lukashenko Threatens War on Ukraine Over Drone Incident

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has warned of serious consequences for Ukraine in the event of an attack on his helicopter after Ukrainian drones were spotted near the aircraft he was on board. The incident occurred while Lukashenko was flying and, according to him, the drones were over Belarusian territory, which created a threat to the safety of the flight.

Lukashenko noted that the helicopter had to change its route and fly at a very low altitude, as well as delay its takeoff by an hour to avoid potential danger. In his statement, the president emphasized that the drones clearly saw his helicopter, since it is a large aircraft, as opposed to small drones, which made the situation especially tense.

"Of course, drone operators see the helicopter, it's big, it's not a drone," — Lukashenko noted in his speech.

At the same time, the President of Belarus stated that he personally does not attach any particular importance to the incident, but he reminded that an attack on the presidential helicopter could lead to serious consequences.

"Shooting down the president's helicopter is a war that Ukrainians don't need," — Lukashenko added, hinting at possible military action if similar incidents are repeated.

According to Lukashenko, Belarus does not seek to escalate the conflict, but is ready to defend its territorial integrity and security. He also stressed that any attempts to threaten Ukraine will be considered as aggressive actions that may entail retaliatory measures.
