IAEA: Restart of Zaporozhye NPP is impossible

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said that restarting the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is currently impossible. This statement was made following negotiations with the general director of the state corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, which took place on Tuesday in Kaliningrad.

“We discussed the possibility of restarting the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which at the moment, according to general understanding, seems impossible,” - Grossi told reporters.

The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, one of the largest nuclear power plants in Europe, has become the focus of international attention due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Negotiations between the IAEA and Rosatom highlight the importance of addressing the safety and stability of such critical facilities.
