The protests have spread to other areas of the city - it has become known that activists have blocked the bridge over the Gumista River and are also gathering on the central Freedom Square in Sukhumi, creating serious obstacles for transport and pedestrians. Local authorities have not yet commented on the reasons for the detentions, and opposition representatives are demanding the immediate release of their supporters and clarification.
