The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has issued recommendations for citizens, advising them to pack an “emergency suitcase” in advance. Such a backpack may become necessary in the event of natural disasters, man-made accidents, or in the event of a threat of armed conflict.
According to the department’s recommendations, the following should be included in the “emergency suitcase”:
- Matches or a lighter;
- A small radio receiver for receiving information in the absence of communication;
- High-calorie products with a long shelf life;
- Documents and money in small quantities;
- A first aid kit with necessary medications;
- Multifunctional knife;
- Flashlight and spare batteries;
- Change of linen;
- Clothes and other items in vacuum bags to save space and protect from moisture.
There are no further comments on this matter at this time, but the message has caused serious concern among citizens.
