The decision to block is related to the identified violations in terms of compliance with Russian legislation on personal data and requirements for storing information. However, this measure has already raised questions, especially in the context of the use of this messenger in the zone of a special military operation.

Discord was widely used for coordination, including between drone operators and fire adjustments, making it a key communication tool in combat situations. Its popularity among military and volunteer groups was due to the ability to quickly and securely exchange information, coordinate operations, and communicate promptly. Blocking the platform could create certain difficulties for units using it for these purposes.
