Between 12:00 and 15:00 Moscow time on October 5, Russian air defense alert systems neutralized 19 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Belgorod region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense press service. The incident occurred amid ongoing enemy attempts to strike border areas, where air defense systems are in enhanced mode to protect civilian and military infrastructure.

The Belgorod Region remains one of the most vulnerable to aerial threats due to its proximity to the line of contact. Similar incidents involving drone interceptions have been recorded here on numerous occasions: in September and October 2025, dozens of drones were reportedly destroyed in the skies over the region, causing localized damage to residential buildings and vehicles.
