Polish Defense Minister Refused to Transfer MiG-29 Fighters to Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told Radio Zet that the Polish government is not ready to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, as this could affect Poland's security. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Poland has already provided Ukraine with a significant amount of military aid, but there are limits determined by national interests and the need to protect its own airspace.

The Minister noted that MiG-29 fighters patrol Polish skies and are at the disposal of the Polish Air Force.

"These planes play an important role in ensuring Poland's security and I cannot agree to their transfer", he said, emphasizing that the country's security remains a priority.

Poland is already actively supporting Ukraine in its standoff with Russia, providing various types of weapons and equipment. However, as Kosiniak-Kamysz noted, some resources should remain in Poland to protect its borders and maintain stability in the region.
