EU defense ministers discuss strikes on Russian territory

On Tuesday, European Union defense ministers are discussing lifting restrictions on the use of weapons provided to Ukraine to strike targets deep inside Russian territory. This discussion caused a wide resonance and became one of the main topics of the meeting.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that the alliance has no plans to send troops to Ukraine or participate in any fighting. However, he noted that the possibility of lifting restrictions on strikes against Russia using Western weapons is not excluded. Stoltenberg stressed that such decisions will be made at the national level by each NATO member country.

The discussion of this issue takes place against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and increasing tensions between Russia and the West. Removing restrictions on the use of provided weapons could significantly change the dynamics of the conflict and lead to unpredictable consequences.
