Zircon rocket launch

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published a video of the new launch of the Zircon hypersonic missile at a ground target

The Russian Defense Ministry has published new footage of the tests of the Zircon hypersonic missile.

The Russian defense department reports that the next test of the newest domestic hypersonic missile Tsirokne, associated with the defeat of a ground target, has passed successfully. The test launch was demonstrated by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in a small video, which made it possible to reveal some of the features of the flight of the Russian missile.

In the presented video frames, you can see how the rocket launched by the frigate "Admiral of the Fleet Gorshkov" is gaining tremendous altitude, obviously, approaching the target. In the future (in the presented video frames, this stage of the flight is absent - editor's note), it is probably carried out at a high altitude. After that, the rocket starts flying along a quasi-ballistic trajectory, which makes the process of intercepting it very difficult.

It is reported that the target was successfully hit from a distance of 350 kilometers, while the missile was able to accelerate to at least 8500 km / h.

It is known that the final stage of tests of the Russian hypersonic missile, associated with launches from onboard warships, will take place in the first half of August, and in the second half of August, tests of the Zircon hypersonic missile will begin from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine. Already next year, the rocket may well be adopted by the Russian Navy.
