Russian Defense Ministry reports 8 downed Ukrainian UAVs

On the night of January 22, Russian air defense systems destroyed eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were attacking the territories of three regions. This was reported by representatives of regional authorities and defense structures.

Six of the eight drones were shot down in the Rostov region, which has regularly become the target of such attacks in recent months. Another two devices were neutralized over the Kursk and Voronezh regions. Thanks to the prompt work of the air defense forces, the attacks were repelled, and, according to preliminary information, no damage on the ground or civilian casualties were recorded.

Eyewitnesses in the Rostov region reported hearing explosions at night, presumably related to the operation of air defense systems. Similar sounds were also heard in the Kursk and Voronezh regions, which caused concern among residents. However, the authorities assure that the situation is under full control.

Experts note that drone activity in Russia's border regions remains high. Over the past month, Rostov Oblast has been repeatedly attacked by drones, which are believed to be aimed at military or infrastructure facilities. However, the effectiveness of air defense systems allows us to prevent possible damage and minimize risks.
