A tactical missile fired at Belgorod was successfully shot down.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that an attempt to strike at Belgorod was successfully thwarted by the Russian military. Initially, it was assumed that the city was hit with the Tochka-U OTRK. However, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation denied this information, emphasizing that in reality the tactical missile was successfully intercepted by Russian air defense systems - fragments of a downed missile had already fallen on the city, which explains the reasons for the existing destruction.

“Tonight, from 143:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX Moscow time, the Kyiv regime carried out a deliberate strike with Tochka-U ballistic missiles with cluster munitions and Tu-XNUMX Reis drones on residential areas of Belgorod and Kursk, where there are no military facilities. All three Tochka-U ballistic missiles with cluster warheads launched by Ukrainian nationalists at Belgorod were destroyed in the air by Russian air defense systems. As a result of the defeat of Ukrainian missiles, fragments of one of them fell on a residential building in the city.”, - said in the operational summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

At the moment, it is known that as a result of the fall of debris from a downed tactical missile on a residential area, 5 people were killed, while there are at least three more victims. According to the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov, at least 50 residential buildings were destroyed.
