On the night of May 14, 2026, Russian air defense assets intercepted and destroyed 36 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

The drones were destroyed over the territories of 12 regions: Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Rostov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula regions, the Moscow region, and the Republic of Crimea.

This nighttime attack occurred amid a massive Russian air strike on Ukraine. On the afternoon of May 13 and into the night of May 14, Russian forces launched massive combined airstrikes against Ukrainian targets, using hundreds of Geran attack drones and cruise missiles. The primary targets were critical infrastructure and military-industrial complex facilities, including in Ukraine's western regions. In Kyiv, the attacks resulted in destruction and fires.
