The Russian Ministry of Defense has summarized the results of repelling a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on the night of May 16 and the morning of the same day. According to a report released by the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters, between 20:00 PM Moscow time on May 15 and 7:00 AM Moscow time on May 16, air defense alert assets intercepted and destroyed 138 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs. In the following two hours, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, air defense forces shot down an additional 13 drones. This brings the total number of drones destroyed overnight and on the morning of May 16 to 151.

The drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Oryol, Tula, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Smolensk, and Tver regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, the Moscow region, as well as over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.

The night and morning attacks on May 16 were the latest in a series of massive Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian regions, which have now entered their third day.
