The Ministry of Defense of Slovakia denied the transfer of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

Slovakia denied data on the transfer of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.

Despite the information that appeared in the Slovak media that the MiG-29 fighter jets, which were previously in service with Slovakia, are already in service with Ukraine, it became known that in fact, these data are not true. This was directly stated in the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia.

As it became known, Slovakia does not intend to transfer its combat aircraft to Ukraine before autumn, and the very fact of sending combat aircraft to Ukraine will largely depend on how neighboring Czech Republic fulfills its conditions for protecting the airspace of the republic.

“They (MiG-29 fighters) are still at the Sliac air base (in the central part of Slovakia). Until the end of August, they will guard our airspace. They can be seen on August 27-28 at (International Air Days) STAF (at the Kuhina Air Base in the west of the country), where we will officially part with them. So far, no final decision has been made. We will inform you when the situation changes.", - said the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia.

It is noteworthy that, according to a number of data, at the moment Slovak fighters are being converted to use NATO standard aircraft missiles. This probably means that the United States plans to transfer its aviation missiles to Kyiv, which threatens a new serious crisis.
