Naval aviation Norway and Russia hold joint exercises

04.06.2014. The Norwegian and Russian naval aviation is conducting joint search and rescue exercises in the Barents Sea.

The main purpose of the exercises is to work out rescue operations in the Arctic, where, as is known, the presence of exclusively specialized equipment is required, which will work perfectly even in conditions close to critical.

In the exercises take aircraft of various types, in particular helicopters and airplanes, but the main purpose is precisely the joint work of these two countries.

Exercises should last for several days, with in accordance with the approved program, will work out a variety of operations including the rescue of the crew of a sinking ship, search people and their evacuation, etc.
