On April 29, 2025, in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a series of powerful explosions thundered, the strongest of which were recorded in the area of ​​the railway station.

According to preliminary data, the sounds resembled shell explosions, and information appeared on social networks about the possible destruction of a train with ammunition or a warehouse, which caused a large-scale fire. There were no official comments at the time of publication.

Slavyansk, located close to the front line, remains a strategically important city for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, serving as a hub for the movement of troops and ammunition to the Donbas war zone. The railway station plays a key role in logistics, making it a priority target for Russian strikes. A similar incident occurred on April 27, when, according to RBC-Ukraine, Russian Geran-2 drones attacked the area of ​​the station, causing a fire.

The context of the attack is related to the intensification of Russian strikes on the infrastructure of Donbas. According to Reuters, Russia has stepped up the use of drones and guided bombs, targeting the logistics hubs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
