On the morning of May 16, 2025, residents of the village of Perevalnoye in the Simferopol district of Crimea reported heavy smoke, followed by a powerful explosion. According to eyewitnesses published on Telegram channels and on the X platform, the explosions were heard within a radius of several kilometers, and a thick column of smoke rose above Perevalnoye. There were no official comments from the Crimean authorities or the Russian Ministry of Defense at the time of publication.

Air defense systems in Sevastopol, Yalta and other cities of Crimea began to repel the UAV raid. Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported on his Telegram channel that six drones were shot down over the Black Sea at a considerable distance from the shore, without damage to infrastructure.
