Moscow confirmed the immutability of its demands regarding Donbas in the US note.

Russia sent Washington an informal diplomatic memorandum, known as a "non-paper," reiterating key terms for peace with Ukraine, including establishing full control over the Donbas. The document was handed over to the American side last weekend, two US administration sources told Reuters.

One official noted that Moscow insists on recognizing its sovereignty over the entire territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics within the 2014 borders. This was a response to Trump's settlement initiatives, including a proposal to freeze the front line.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied the Financial Times's report linking the memorandum to the October conversation between Putin and Trump.

"The memorandum mentioned by the Financial Times journalists is not a document. It is an unofficial draft that was sent to our colleagues not after the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, but several days before that conversation."- he said.
