Moscow News, December 15, 2025, Avia.pro. Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attempted a massive attack on Moscow, and by 5:00 AM Moscow time, the Russian Ministry of Defense's air defense forces had shot down 12 enemy drones as they approached the capital. This was reported by the publication SHOT, which noted that residents of the Istra district heard more than a dozen loud explosions associated with the interceptions. Residents of Kashira and Kolomna, near Moscow, had also previously reported explosions, indicating a large-scale operation across the region.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that emergency services are working at the debris field, conducting inspections and ensuring safety. There are currently no reports of casualties, but the situation remains tense. Earlier that night, temporary restrictions on aircraft landings and departures were imposed twice at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, a standard measure to protect airspace.
