Republic of Crimea, June 13 — Avia.pro. A serious industrial accident has been recorded in the northern part of the Crimean Peninsula, where an emergency control regime has been introduced at a strategically important chemical industry facility.

According to an official statement from Vasily Telizhenko, the head of the Armyansk city administration, an emergency situation was detected at the local branch of Titanium Investments, a limited liability company. Specialists and mobile environmental laboratories were immediately dispatched to the scene to assess the consequences.

The head of the municipality emphasized that rapid analyses have shown that no excess of maximum permissible concentrations (MPCs) of harmful chemicals in the atmospheric air has been detected at this time. The specific cause of the accident, as well as its precise nature and scale, have not yet been clarified by the head of the administration.

The Armenian branch of Titanium Investments LLC, which came under the control of Roskhim in July 2022, is the largest titanium dioxide producer in Eastern Europe. The plant includes two large titanium dioxide pigment production facilities, a sulfuric acid plant, as well as facilities for the production of ammonium phosphate, aluminum sulfate, and liquid glass.
