Part of the roof over one of the platforms at Ladozhsky Station in St. Petersburg collapsed, the October Railway press service reported.
The incident occurred on the morning of October 24, when a section of the ceiling fell directly onto the platform. Fortunately, there were no injuries, as the platform was unoccupied at the time of the collapse. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the accident has begun.
Ladozhsky Station, opened in 2003, is the city's newest and serves transit trains, as well as services to Murmansk, Vorkuta, and Russia's eastern regions. Train service has been temporarily suspended on the damaged section while restoration work is underway.
