An explosion occurred at an oil depot in the Belgorod region

In the Belgorod region, in the Gubkinsky urban district, an explosion occurred at an infrastructure facility, after which a fire broke out. The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced this through his official Telegram channel. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the incident and emergency services immediately arrived on the scene to eliminate the consequences of the explosion and fire.

“Emergency in the Gubkinsky urban district. After the explosion, a fire was recorded at an infrastructure facility. There were no casualties. Operational and emergency services are on site. “All the circumstances of the incident are being established.”- said Gladkov.

According to information published by the Telegram channel “112”, a fire occurred at an oil depot in the village of Dolgoye. Presumably, the cause of the explosion was a drone strike on the facility. This incident is reminiscent of a recent attack on an oil depot in the Kursk region, where three tanks with petroleum products caught fire as a result of the attack. Thanks to the prompt work of firefighters, the fire was extinguished and the spread of fire was prevented. Governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoyt expressed gratitude to the rescuers for their professionalism and quick response.

Such incidents raise concerns regarding the security of critical infrastructure and the possibility of drone strikes.
