The Russian Hmeimim airbase has undergone a major modernization.

Satellite images of the Russian military airbase “Hamim” demonstrate the fact that Russia is preparing for its serious strengthening. This is due to the completion of the reconstruction of the second runway, as well as changes in the area of ​​the helipads in the northeast of the Russian military airfield.

According to satellite images analyzed by experts, the Russian military completed the reconstruction of the second runway, which will increase the frequency of combat missions, if necessary, twice. Moreover, if necessary, Russian military aircraft can continuously strike at the enemy.

What kind of object will appear on the former parking for helicopters, so far remains unknown. According to some data, we are talking about places for placing additional air defense weapons, and on the other - weapons depots, which, however, has not received any official comments from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to some information, the grouping of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Khmeimim airbase may increase in the near future.
