Turkish army headquarters attacked in northern Syria

In the northern Aleppo city of Maree, a fire broke out in the headquarters of the joint forces of the Turkish army after an artillery strike by Syrian troops. According to available information, the strike was accurate and caused significant smoke in the area of the headquarters. There is no official information yet about the scale of the destruction and casualties.

According to observers, this artillery shelling is connected with the active offensive of the militants of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group (HTS, recognized as terrorist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation – Avia.pro note) on the positions of the Syrian army in the Aleppo region. Turkey, according to sources, provides support to the militants, including the provision of intelligence information.

The situation in the region remains tense: HTS militants are stepping up their attacks, while Syrian government forces are trying to contain their advance. Turkey, in turn, continues to increase its influence in northern Syria, supporting opposition forces, which leads to regular clashes.

Experts note that the firefight between Syria and Turkey could lead to further escalation of the conflict. Artillery strikes and battles for strategic sites in the region are increasing tensions, posing a threat to civilians and stability in general.

Türkiye has not yet commented on the incident in Maree, but its further actions could be decisive in the development of the situation in northern Syria.
