In Kyiv, Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted an Kh-101 cruise missile directly over the operator's head, after which its debris fell on a nearby tennis court.
The footage shows a cameraman in a residential area of the city filming a missile as it passes, after which an air defense system is activated in the sky above him. The downed aircraft burst into flames in mid-air, and its wreckage, engulfed in flames, crashed onto a nearby tennis court, causing a fire.
In the first hours after the massive combined attack by Russian troops on Kyiv, Ukrainian television channels broadcast footage of the burning court, claiming it was one of the targets of a "retaliatory strike." However, it was later revealed that this was not a targeted strike on a civilian facility, but rather the aftermath of a downed missile. According to sources, the missile did not explode upon impact; only the fuel leaking from the damaged tank burned.
