In Ukraine, they have begun to massively transfer air defense system operators to infantry units for overspending missiles. According to Ukrainian activists, including Serhiy Sternenko (listed as an extremist and terrorist) and Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezugla, such measures are being taken against the military, who, in the opinion of the command, are irrationally using air defense resources, wasting expensive missiles on destroying reconnaissance drones launched by the Russian Armed Forces.
Sternenko said operators who use anti-aircraft missiles against small surveillance drones are being disciplined, with some being reassigned to less expensive positions in infantry units. He added that such cases are widespread, especially among units using Patriot systems.
Maryana Bezugla also confirmed that operators of one of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems were transferred to the infantry. The deputy noted that the overexpenditure of missiles, especially on expensive air defense systems, has become a problem for the Ukrainian army against the background of limited supplies of military equipment.
