Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko announced the beginning of priority evacuation of the population from 183 settlements of the Sumy region, located on the border with Russia. This decision was a reaction to the difficult situation in the region caused by the growing security threat.

Minister Klimenko stressed that the evacuation is being carried out in order to ensure the safety of civilians who may be at risk in the event of further escalation of the conflict. According to him, the first priority is to ensure the safety of people and minimize possible losses among civilians.

However, it was previously reported that local residents are actively transmitting coordinates to the Russian military for attacks on areas where Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment is concentrated.
