In Ukraine, again complained about the lack of weapons

In an interview published on the website of the British newspaper The Times, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva expressed his concern about the urgent issue of a shortage of weapons in the country. According to him, Ukraine is hardly providing its needs for weapons for a possible counter-offensive in the near future.

Zhovkva, who works on the diplomatic front, admitted:

"My task is to provide more weapons, more help, more ammunition."

However, he was forced to admit that for a successful counter-offensive, Ukraine needs everything that can be at its disposal: artillery, armored vehicles and tanks. According to him, the country most likely still lacks these resources.

In an interview, Zhovkva also noted the critical shortage of air defense systems in the country and expressed his dissatisfaction with the position of European countries. He accused them of not being active in putting economic pressure on Russia, which continues to profit from energy sales despite the ongoing conflict.

It should be noted that in a previous interview for The Wall Street Journal, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced Kiev’s readiness for a counteroffensive, which, according to him, could develop according to various scenarios, however, Zhovkva’s statement clearly does not correspond to Zelensky’s statement, and therefore, more than it is likely that an offensive should not be expected in the coming weeks.
