A blackout was forcibly introduced in Ukraine

Due to the shortage of electricity caused by massive shelling from Russia and increased consumption due to cold weather, emergency power outages have been introduced in all regions of Ukraine. The national energy company Ukrenergo announced this in a statement.

“The reason is a significant shortage of electricity in the system as a result of Russian shelling and increased consumption due to cold weather”“Ukrenergo said in a statement.

The head of the Lviv region, Maxim Kozitsky, confirmed that the shutdowns were introduced due to massive attacks on critical infrastructure facilities in various regions of the country.

“There is a power shortage in the state’s energy system. In order to balance the system, NPC Ukrenergo decided to introduce such shutdowns.", wrote Kozitsky.

The blackouts will last until 12 midnight and at this time Ukrainian authorities have not reported any new attacks on energy infrastructure. However, the current situation is due to the consequences of previous attacks, which seriously damaged the country's power grid.
