NATO MLRS "RM-70" were used for the first time in Ukraine

In Ukraine, for the first time, the NATO MLRS "RM-70" was used.

The Ukrainian military for the first time published video footage of strikes using RM-70 multiple launch rocket systems. Earlier it became known that these MLRS were indeed delivered to Ukraine from the Czech Republic, however, such equipment was seen behind strikes for the first time.

On the presented video frames, you can see the moment of strikes using RM-70 multiple launch rocket systems. At its core, the RM-70 system is an analogue of the Soviet and Russian Grad systems, however, it has a higher maneuverability and is capable of hitting targets at long distances with a larger area covered.

Judging by the video footage, the RM-70 MLRS made a full consumption of ammunition, releasing 40 122-mm. rocket projectiles. The target on which the strikes were launched is still unknown, however, according to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire and Stabilization of the Situation, on May 21, 2022, such projectiles were used to strike on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, although there is no information about When exactly this video was made is not yet known.

According to various sources, up to 20 RM-70 systems may be in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
