Special armor was installed on Ukrainian PzH 2000 self-propelled guns to repel drone attacks

Germany installed special armor on Ukrainian PzH 2000 self-propelled guns.

The latter is designed specifically to avoid the destruction of self-propelled artillery installations by ammunition dropped from unmanned aerial vehicles and to protect the hull of the self-propelled guns from being hit by small fragments. At its core, armor is a special type of rubber coating, which, in the event that objects fall on it from a great height, either throws the latter upwards, which minimizes the likelihood of hitting equipment, or throws the dropped ammunition to the side.

On the presented video frames published by the Ukrainian military, you can see the very special coating of the armor of the self-propelled guns. The latter, according to a number of sources, began to be used relatively recently, however, it has already successfully coped with the tasks assigned to it, although at the moment there is no evidence to prove this.

It should be noted that such armor has not previously been seen on German military equipment, and therefore there is an assumption that special armor was developed exclusively for Ukrainian military equipment and in the future can be used on other military equipment transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
