The first MLRS M270 MLRS arrived in Ukraine, capable of delivering twice as many strikes

The first MLRS M270 MLRS arrived in Ukraine.

The first M270 MLRS multiple launch rocket systems have been deployed to Ukraine. Technically, we are talking about analogues of the American M142 Himars, capable of firing at the same distances, with the same ammunition with the same efficiency, however, the difference between the M270 MLRS delivered to Ukraine and the M142 Himars already in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is that the former have a tracked chassis. This allows them to move over rough terrain, although this significantly slows down the transfer of complexes. At the same time, systems M270 MLRS carry not 6 missiles, but 12, which allows you to deliver twice as many strikes.

The exact number of M270 MLRS systems deployed to Ukraine remains unknown, however, according to some reports, we are talking about three multiple launch rocket systems, probably supplied by either the UK or Norway. In total, at least 9 heavy MLRS M270 MLRS and M142 Himars were transferred to the arsenal of Ukraine. This points to the fact that at least 5 American-made systems were transferred during the latest deliveries, while it is expected that four more M142 Himars, previously promised by the United States, may arrive in Ukraine within the next week.

"Nine HIMARS and similar missile systems are already operating in Ukraine"- said NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the destruction of two M142 Himars launchers, however, documentary evidence of the destruction of two systems has not yet been presented.
