The northwestern sector of the Taganrog Bay and the coastal areas of Mariupol were hit by more than 50 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to Russian Weapons, the city's air defense system is actively working, repelling drone attacks at low and ultra-low altitudes. The operation to intercept enemy drones continues, and residents of the southwestern outskirts of the city are urged to avoid being in open spaces.
According to local authorities and military sources, enemy drones attacked the city from different directions, which forced the air defense to act as quickly as possible. Short-range anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) were used to neutralize the threat. At the moment, the attack is being repelled, but the situation remains tense.
Residents of the city reported the sounds of explosions and military activity in the coastal zone, confirming the scale of the attack. Air defense systems detect drones at low altitudes, making intercepting them difficult. However, according to the military, most of the drones were destroyed before reaching their targets.
