Moscow, June 13 — Avia.pro. A major digital crisis has been recorded in the domestic communications technology sector, where the popular national messenger MAX risks completely losing functionality when used through standard web browsers.

According to IT resources, Let's Encrypt, a US-based nonprofit responsible for automated web address security verification and data encryption security, has officially revoked the messaging app's TLS certificates. The organization's representatives updated their internal security policy, emphasizing that sanctioning MAX automatically invalidates previously issued digital signatures.

This incident marks the second major attack on the government messaging app's network infrastructure. Previously, Belgian company GlobalSign took similar measures against MAX, forcing the service's developers to urgently switch to Let's Encrypt after GlobalSign blocked their service.

The implementation of strict restrictions has already led to the first technical issues with accessing the platform's web version, with browsers beginning to recognize the resource as unsafe. Experts note that without the use of alternative root certificates or a transition to internal national certification authorities, the messenger may become permanently inaccessible for most PC users.
