On the night of Wednesday, March 20, Russian air defense systems successfully repelled an attack by drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces aimed at one of the bases of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), located near Engels, Saratov region. This was reported by the Mash Telegram channel, citing information from a source. As a result of the vigilant work of air defense systems, four unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down in the skies over the Saratov region, and another one in the skies over the Belgorod region.
Roman Busargin, governor of the Saratov region, confirmed information about the attempted attack, pointing out the absence of casualties and destruction as a result of effective air defense actions. In parallel, in the Kursk region, debris from a downed S-200 missile, converted for attacks on ground targets, fell, which brought alarm to the center of Kursk and its surrounding areas, but, fortunately, there were no casualties.
