Russian forces have established control over the northwestern part of Vuhledar, thus ending the organized defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this strategically important settlement. According to information coming from the front, during the night Ukrainian units attempted to leave the city in small groups, but their efforts did not lead to tangible results.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense of Ugledar has weakened after several days of intense fighting, and the city is now effectively under the full control of the Russian army. Against this backdrop, skirmishes and local military actions continue on the approaches to Ugledar, but the organized resistance of the Ukrainian troops is weakening every day. The Russian military is actively deploying its forces, occupying key positions in previously defended territories.
According to the participants of the operation, the Ukrainian army, realizing the impossibility of holding the city, decided to withdraw part of its forces with minimal losses, but many units were blocked on the approaches to the western outskirts of Ugledar. According to unconfirmed reports, during these battles the Ukrainian side suffered significant losses, leaving a large amount of equipment and weapons on the battlefield.
